Research Topic: Surgical video understanding and anticipation

Project Description: Situational awareness is a key step towards automation in surgery. We envision situation-aware operating theatre technologies that can use data to perceive the environment, comprehend ongoing activities and processes, project outcomes of various possible actions, and provide real-time guidance to the surgical team during complex tasks and unexpected events. This project aims to leverage generative models to address these issues.
